Speech

Contest speech is open to all students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade. This activity encourages self-confidence and the ability to “think on one’s feet”. Both skills are extremely useful in all walks of life. The student finds and practices a performance piece from 1 of 13 categories and gets the piece ready for competition with other area schools. Generally, the speech season is from December to March.
