Accelerated Reader Program

AR Challenge:  The teachers host challenges for the students to earn as many AR points as they can in any given quarter.  
Students in grades 4-8 and the teachers read books and then take quizzes on these books.  To earn points for a book, the reader must pass the quiz with 60% accuracy.  The points are based on the level of the book and the number of words in the book.  
Elementary students also compete by logging hours and/or books read.  The wall outside of the library has even featured students and teachers who have earned a specific number of points!  There is excitement from both teams as names get posted.  It's a great program to get students and teachers excited about reading!
