This is Rainbow Day. It was on a Faith Day last year, so we are at Mass.

Catholic Schools Week is a week when students celebrate being in a catholic school. It is a nation wide event. We do some activities as a school like bingo and have speakers come. We have a Catholic Schools Week Mass at Holy Redeemer Church. There is an open house also. A contest takes place, where students design a button to represent Catholic Schools Week. We have different spirit days such as:

«     Wacky hair day

«     Sports day

«     Hat and sucker day

«     Rainbow day

«     Pajama day

«     Opposite day

«     Bling-bling/ Teddy bear day

«     Pink day

«     Hawaiian day and dance

«     Ugly day

«     Mis-match day

«     50’s and 60’s day

A lot of people are involved in this event. Students, teachers, parents, and speakers. We send in poems and paragraphs about what going to a Catholic school means to us to the Independent Newspaper.

We decorate grocery bags for local grocery stores.

Catholic Schools Week usually takes place at the end of January. It takes place at Holy Redeemer School and at Holy Redeemer Church. We have this week to show our school spirit. Students show school spirit by participating in the spirit days and different activities. This event benefits Holy Redeemer School students by giving them a week to show that they are proud to go to a Catholic School and to have fun.
